Traditional Technology

In past, throughout the globe, there were many traditional technology, art and crafts were used in Textile marketing. From farm to fashion, but, because mainly utilization of all these technology becomes extinct. Ayurvastra uses this traditional technology for modern textile industry.

Ayurvastra - How it works?

As per Ayurveda and Indian Vedic traditional, human body is made with Five elements (pancha-bootha). Pancha Bootha includes Air, Water, Fire, Space, and Earth. Similarly, human body is designed with five machines (Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, and Skin). Skin is the largest organ which covers our vital organs.

Ayruvastra fabrics are dyed using medicinal rich herbs and also fixed with gums to hold fabrics. Thus, it becomes a mediator in transforming the goodness of the herbs to the skin. It also, works as a Second Layer of skin, promoting health.

Skin has a characteristics to observe whatever applied on it and also emit sweat to release the toxic from the body. On wearing Ayurvastra fabrics, an environment is created where the fabrics acts as a second layer transforming the herbs property into the body. It also immunize our body thus preventing health dosha(s).

Ayurvastra - is Wellness Textile or Medicinal Textile?

Many customers ask whether Ayurvastra can be used as an Medical Textiles? Because it is dyed with Ayurvedic Herbs. We make Ayurvedic Textile into two types:

  1. Ayurvastra For General Well-being
  2. Ayurvastra For Ayurvedic Purpose

All our fabrics are processed with herbs for general wellness. We are not claiming our fabrics is for medicinal purpose, even though, many of our customers gave positive feedback that our fabrics gives them good feeling on their skin and give energy to them.

Ayurvastra recommends to consult Ayurvedic Doctor(s) to use our fabrics for their treatment(s) such as like skin disease such as Psoriasis, Remotisim, etc.

Ayurvastra - Natural Fibres vs Synthetic Fibres

Ayurvastra use only Natural Fibres(cotton, linen, wool, jute, flex, silk, coir, etc) for its products. We use pure cotton and also organic cotton as per the customer request. Generally we use 100% pure cotton in knit fabrics and also regenerated fabrics such as bamboo, banana, corn fabrics.

Ayurvastra dyes are not observed in Synthetic fibres like nylon. We support growing natural native fibres which is very good for the human skin for more than 5000 years. Many users say, synthetic fibres are allergic and not comfortable to skin. Hence, we aim to bring in the benefits of natural fibres / re-generated fibres for developing Ayurvastra products.

Ayurvastra - Conventional Dyeing vs Ayurvedic Dyeing

Ayurvastra is more than a natural dyeing because of its Herbal Process and Purity of Dyeing. It is a unique method of dyeing made only in Balaramapuram, Kerala

Conventional Natural Dyeing

Ever since the discovery of synthetic dye from coal tar by William Perkin in 1856, and after that, large scale production of cheap synthetic dye was made. These synthetic dyes were toxic and pollute not only the environment but also the living organisms.

After realizing the negative impacts of the Synthetic Dyes, many countries banned the use of such dyes. This changes opens up a new alternate method of dyeing. So, a new concept of conventional natural dyeing came into the market, which use process similar to synthetic and only the dye stuff is taken from Natural Sources and minerals.

This conventional natural dyeing also uses synthetic moderant and dye extracts for fixing colors to the textiles. So mostly, conventional natural dyeing also need ETP and RO for treating it's dyeing waste. Else, it will create harmful problems to the environment.

The focus of the conventional natural dyeing is color fastness using synthetic moderant. Except the dye stuff, all are synthetic.

Ayurvedic Dyeing

Ayurvedic Dyeing is an ancient method of dyeing using Plants, Roots, Flowers, Seeds, Barks, Leaves, and natural minerals. Ayurveda dyeing uses natural moderant for fixing shades and natural gums for holding the goodness of herbs into the fabric.

The focus of Ayurveda Dyeing is to make the fabric wellness with the goodness of the herbs. Color or shades or fasteners are secondary in Ayurvedic Textiles. Ayurvastra can dye only natural fibres. Extracts are made live called as Kasayam (combination of herb for shade / herb for moderant / herb for Ayurveda properties).

Ayurveda Textiles never pollute environment and it's remaindends can be used as a agricultural fertilizer's by decomposing using Cow Manure. Overall, Ayurvastra is complete pure and natural textiles compares to the other textiles in the market.

Ayurvedic Dyeing focus is creating a pure natural textiles with energy and wellness.
